The Dina School in Masisi

They are part of an exposed group, suffering persecution from several other groups in the area. Many of them are chased away from their settlements and killed. Hundreds of pygmy families have now settled on this mountain.

The Dina Foundation runs a school here for more than 300 of these pygmy children.  As of now, the buildings are made in a simple way in fear of rebels coming to destroy them.

The work in raising a permanent school building on the mountain has started. This will increase the capacity to 600 students. A company called Modena Fliser from Kristiansand, Norway, is greatly involved in this project.
