The Dina School in Gitega

After decades of civil wars and ethnic conflicts, the peace process has finally started in Burundi. As a result of all these internal conflicts Burundi is now one of the poorest countries in the world.

For the country’s government, schooling and education for the new generation has become a focus area, introducing free education for all children. There is still a shortage of suitable school buildings and teachers.

The Dina Foundation has a desire to contribute to the improvement of children’s education, and the Dina School in Gitega was the first two schools built by The Foundation. One provides elementary through high school level education, while the other provides vocational training.
